The 5th Annual Butterfly Release for Joel's Place for Children
Saturday, August 28, 2010
Every year, Joel's Place for Children sponsors an Butterfly Release at the Gazebo at Cahoon Memorial Park. The butterflies were given to all the children and adults who attended the event. The butterflies were released in memory of a loved one. The event allows our group to share a special memory of a loved one we have lost and help us celebrate them.
The butterfly is a wonderful symbol of hope for the future. The transformation of the butterfly from egg to caterpillar to chrysalis and finally to adult butterfly exemplifies the journey through the grief process. It is very meaningful for our families to know that the community stands with them as they experience one of life’s hardest lessons.
As you can see from the photos, all of the attendees truly love the experience.
